Types of Anesthesia

Local Anesthesia: Numbing medication used by surgeon or anesthesiologist (via ultrasound guided nerve block) in efforts to block sensation to various parts of the body.
Spinal/Epidural Anesthesia: Injection in back done to numb the lower extremities/abdomen to facilitate surgeries on these areas.
Sedation: Medications given intravenously that cause relaxation
General Anesthesia:Medications administered intravenously and/or inhaled through a mask or breathing tube that induce a controlled state of unconsciousness. This ensures the patient feels no pain, has no awareness, and does not move during surgery.
